Post-Doctoral Positions

Postdoctoral positions are available immediately in Dr. Mervyn J. Monteiro’s laboratory at the University of Maryland School of Medicine to study the molecular genetics and pathophysiology of ALS/FTD linked to UBQLN2 mutations. The candidate will be expected to work with cell and mouse models of ALS (see recent publications: Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (2016) 113:E7580-89; Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (2020) 117:15230-41; Acta Neuropath Communications (2020) 8:164, doi: 10.1186/s40478-020-01039-9; Hum Mol Gen (2021) 30:1230-1246). Candidates should have a doctoral degree and strong research background in either neuroscience, molecular cell biology, biochemistry and/or mouse molecular genetics. Applicants should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants expected to graduate soon or who received their PhD degree within the last three years. The postdoc candidate will be offered highly competitive salary and fringe benefits as per University of Maryland School of Medicine policy.
